Cleaning & Caring For Your Bifold Doors
Concerned about keeping up with all that extra glass? Basic care for your new bifold door is a simple and stress-free process. Similar to cleaning traditional windows and doors, maintaining your bifold entry requires only a few quick and easy steps to keep it streak and squeak-free.
Wipe down the door panels using a soft, damp cloth. Be sure to clean all surfaces, including the door’s frames, tracks, and hinges—this prevents dust and grime buildup and maintains the door’s appearance and performance. Vacuum all debris from the sill and track. And wipe glass panels down, using glass cleaner and a paper towel.
Apply a small amount of silicone lubricant to the hinges, tracks and any moving parts to ensure the doors move smoothly. Avoid using heavy oils, as they can attract unwanted dirt and dust.
Our bifold doors are built to handle daily use. However, heavy-handed operation can put undue stress on the system. Always open and close your bifold doors gently. If they feel stuck, resist the urge to slam or force them open, as this can cause damage. Instead, check for obstructions or debris in the track that may be hindering smooth operation.
